NO CAVITIES!!!

This post is so late, but I had to make sure and record it for all to see......THE GILLISPIES ARE CAVITY FREE!!!!

Another first for Isaac!

Saturday a friend of Phillip's offered him two tickets to the Auburn Tennessee game knowing that Phillip is a big Vols fan. Of course Phillip accepted and could not wait to take his little buddy to his first College Football game. Phillip had not been to a game since he was about 14 with his Dad and he was excited to create some memories with his son. Isaac was very excited, although he watched more of the cheerleaders than the actual game:) When he got home he told me all about seeing the mascots and all of the people. He said it was the best day of his life...you can't ask for more than that!

Daddy and Daughter date night!

Friday night Avri and Phillip got to share a special night together. It was Daddy and daughter date night at Avri's school and she was so excited she could hardly stand it. She had been asking all week about her "daughter date" and the night had finally arrived. She insisted on getting ready at about 4:00 that afternoon and asked for lip gloss and perfume. When Phillip came home he had brought home a rose for his date and she was thrilled. After Phillip was ready she said "Daddy sure is a handsome date". It was the cutest. They had a nice dinner and watched snow pinguins together. She could not have been happier to spend an evening with her Prince Charming. What a sweet Daddy he is!

Its Fall Ya'll!

So my buddies have been posting about fall and it has gotten me in the mood too! Fall has to be my favorite season of all. I cannot get enough of the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon, I look great in orange, and best of all the food holidays are coming up! Also, nothing brings back the memories of my childhood like burning leaves. When I was a kid everybody burned thier leaves and I can remember riding my bike down the street and the smoky smell was all in the air. I knew it would not be long until we were trick or treating, having turkey, and opening Christmas gifts. It seemed like my mother was always wraking our leaves and that meant I got to play in them. SHe would always wrake a special pile free of sticks for me to jump around in. Now, I don't really rake our leaves like I should, but I always pile some up for the kids to play in and they love it as much as I did!

This fall I am really looking forward to a lot of fun activities with my friends and family. The girls and I have already planned out some get togethers for us and the kids, swapped holiday names, and planned a nice weekend away, what more could you ask for??

PS.... I am always happy to recieve a friendly loaf of pumpkin bread this time of year, so just leave it on my porch!!

The date...

I asked Isaac back about a week ago if he would like to go on a "date" with me on Saturday. He agreed and I was tickled. It seems like so long ago when it was just him and me. Before Avri, it was just the two of us and there are times when I miss that so much. We started the day by heading out to the comic book store (his favorite place in the world) and we picked out some comics together. He showed me some of the charicters and describes to my thier powers and weaknesses, you know boy stuff. It was really cool to watch him there. He was so in his element. This kid knows everything there is to know about the Marvel comics and there are very few places where he really comes alive. It was just wonderful to watch him. Next we headed out to Moe's his favorite resteraunt where he ate 2 kids meals and we had some time to talk. It was so funny to be sitting across from him like he was a little man. I love to just hear him talk and say whatever is going on in that fantastic little mind of his. He told me more about his new comics and said he liked our date. I asked him if he remembered when it use to be just us and he just smiled and said "yeah, I know." Afterwards we went to the mall and I purchased him his first bottle of cologne. It felt like such a grown up to buy, but he said "I want to smell cool at school" and that is all it took. What can I say, he is my baby. He is growing up to be such a handsome, smart, and proud young man and I could not be more proud of him. He has shaped my life and taught me things he cannot even begin to understand at this age, but I hope someday he realizes what a gift from God he is and embraces all that God has in store for him. It amazes me now how fitting his name is "Isaac." I can so clearly remember when Phillip and I had to fully submit his life and healing over to God. He has truely blessed us.

God has blessed us with such a wonderful life and I want to share it with you!
